Kenneth Eugene Iverson

Kenneth Eugene Iverson (born 17 December 1920, Canada) is most well known for inventing the programming language APL (A Programming Language or sometimes referred to as Array Processing Language).

The language itself, which has been in use since 1969, was totally revolutionary for its time.

In 1979 he was honoured with the Turing Award for his contributions to mathematical notation and programming language theory.

He also invented the programming language J.

Kenneth Iverson died on 19th October 2004 in Canada.
